Com Truise

Com Truise other than having a kick arse name, is an insanely talented musician, his real name is Seth Haley and hails originally from Oneida, New York (don't ask my where that is). Seth has a very synthesizer heavy sound that is heavily influenced by the 80s and has some great original tracks and remix's out.

Air - Alone In Kyoto

I can't  get enough of the French Duo Air, this track is so amazingly beautiful and chilled I never want it to end.

Shapeshifter - Touch (Netsky Remix)

So I have posted both Netsky and Shapeshifter songs in the last couple of weeks so I was excited to find that the later did a remix album with a remix by the former, Netsky has given it a more of a European electro feel that I am digging. So here it is, turn it up and enjoy.

Phaeleh - Falling

Ambient electro, which is the best way I can think of to describe Phaeleh, is an amazing genre. You get lost in the music and chill out so hard its not funny. Phaeleh has a heap of songs as good as this if not better than this, so check him out.

Koreless - 4D & MTI

Koreless is an 19 year old producer from Glasgow, he has some serious beats hitting my ears at the moment, and people say the Scottish are useless. I have two tracks for you today by Koreless and they are both great, 4D being a bit more chilled while MTI gets a bit aggressive, in saying that they are both stonker tunes.

Kaskade - Room for Happiness feat. Skylar Grey

So I am a bit late posting this track, I found it a few weeks ago and totally forgot about it, however I do have many friends who love the sounds of Kaskade so it seemed logical to post it. Especially since he just got awarded America's best DJ in a DJ Times poll. If you enjoy House music deep, progressive or the elctro kind then this kind of music will probably be up your alley.

David Gilmore - Marooned

Here is a clip of David Gilmore playing 'Marooned' a song he wrote for the Pink Floyd album 'Division Bell'. This track won a Grammy and Gilmore has been quoted to say that pretty much the whole song is improvised. This live version is from the Fender Stratocaster 50th anniversary concert, watch, listen and get blow away.

Paolo Nutini - Growing Up (Live)

Folk music has been all the rage the last year or two, with bands like 'Fleet Foxes' and the more commercial 'Mumford and Sons' coming into the indie spotlight. This track is a great mix between that folksy feel and an acoustic tune. Plus Paolo Nutini's voice has a very weird sound which captures your ears interest.

Sunday 13 November 2011

Time (Inception) - Hans Zimmer (Live)

Hans Zimmer (awesome name) is a genius, hailing from Germany this guy has written scores for movies like Rainman,Thelma and Louise, The Power of One, THE LION KING, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, The Davinci Code, Gladiator, Pearl Harbour, The Dark Knight and the list goes on.
This track is his main score from Inception, you may recognise the guy playing the guitar because its Johnny Marr from a little band called 'The Smiths'. Enjoy.

In Motion - Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross

I have exams at the moment and there is only so much Explosions In The Sky I can listen to while studying. So I ventured out into my music collection for study music and found that 'The Social Network' sound track to be perfect. If you didn't know Trent Reznor is the front man from Nine Inch Nails and Atticus Ross apart from having an awesome name is an English producer/composer. They won an academy award for this so it defiantly worth a listen.

Radiohead - YOU (live 1994)

I don't really know what to say.. this is mind blowing stuff. Radiohead are easily the greatest band of our generation.

Beatrice Martin -Wicked Games (Weeknd Cover):

Coeur De Pirate singer, Beatrice Martin covers The Weeknd’s 'Wicked Games' and its pretty great. Very relaxed and chilled out and the song shows how Beatrice's voice can be a real treat.

Shapeshifter - Monarch

So my girlfriend is a kiwi and has been shoving NZ music down my throat for the last two years and surprisingly it doesn't all suck, well really most of it is awesome, bands like 'Salmonella Dub' and 'Fat Freddys Drop' show you a side of music you don't really hear in Melbourne.
I saw Shapeshifter at the forum in Melbourne last night and got to say they blew me away, awesome beats and some killer sax solos had me bopping away in the crowd like a retard, but I didn't care, which is a tell tale sign for great music.
This track had a bit of it all, sax, drum and base lines and build up and break downs, can't go wrong.

PJ Harvey & Thome Yorke - This Mess We're In

If you people are anything like me, and you should be, then you will lap up any Thom Yorke you can find. This track he has joined up with PJ Harvey's Album 'Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea' way back in 2000. So close you eyes and enjoy, singers like Thom don't come around often.

PJ Harvey & Thome Yorke - This Mess We're In:

Childish Gambino - Heartbeat

Anther awesome Childish Gambino song, I apologize for the song quality now but its all I could get at the moment because the song hasn't actually been released. Other than that this song takes on a more electronic feel and while the chorus is a bit poppy if you listen to the lyrics its still the same old Gambino.

DROP FRAME - D Slam

I found this track on triple J Unearthed site as I was browsing around for new music and have say it's weirdly awesome, so if you like Dub step then maybe keep an eye out for Drop Frame because he could be making some serious movements.

Lips - Everything to Me & (Adventure Club Dub step remix)

Another Adventure club remix, somehow they keep pumping out solid mix's that do insane justice to Dub-step without being over the top. The original track is also put in because it is a sweet track in its own right, Lips throw out a very chilled vibe with a kind of flight facilities feel.

The Black Keys - Lonely Boy

First single of the new Black Keys album 'El Camino' which hits stores December 6th. I have been looking forward to this album for a long time. Hope this little taste can hold me off for another month or two.

I.D.G.A.F.O.S. - Dillon Francis

I'm not usually a fan of music like this, however Dillon Francis is an up and coming DJ that is going to make it huge so I figured I should give you all a taste. This track has some serious hybrid moombahton beats that Dillion loves to use that makes a very chaotic and catchy track.

Tuesday 25 October 2011

Lupe Fiasco - LightWork f. Ellie Goulding & Bassnectar

New, good Lupe is hard to come by, so I'l take anything I can get. This mix is pretty sweet, apart from having Lupe say "Yeh Yeh YEh" for the first minute its done real well. This single is a release of his new Mix tape named 'Friend of the People' which is due out 24th November, while it does lack the hip hop master essence  we knew from his first two releases, it's still better than lasers, even with its electronic feel.

Monday 24 October 2011

Ain't Nothing Like You (Hoochie Coo) Ft. Mos Def and Jim Jones

So if there are people out there who like Black Keys and Hip-Hop you can't really go past BlakRoc, which is basically the Black Keys with guest rappers so its bound to be great. This track has Mos Def and Jim Jones who add a great sound to the already amazing blues vibe.

Nero - Me And You (Steve Angello Remix)

This mix is just plain awesome, the violins just create an epic vibe and when it drops we all know how much swagger Nero can have. Steve Angello puts his own vibe into the track and it fits in seamlessly with the original score.

The XX - Night Time (Synkro Remix)

I know there are a lot of XX mix's around, however I really enjoyed how Synkro kept the basic emptiness of the song and just developed it into something a little different. If you like the XX you can't not like it.

Childish Gambino Vs Chiddy Bang – Put It In Your Manners (DJ 21azy Mashup)

The best thing about Dj 2lazy, that sets him apart from most Remix Dj's is the fact that his tracks are never to busy and there is a feeling of less is more. I have a lot of love for Childish Gambino and his flow works wonders over Indie chorus of Chiddy Bangs "Mind Your Manners". Something a little more upbeat for the masses.

Group Love Ft Skizzy Mars & Biggie Smalls - Colours (DJ 21azy Remix)

So another Biggie mix, but I don't care, because this one set itself apart from the usual remixs and mashups. Skizzy Mars and Biggie's raps mesh well together and the backing track by Group Love keeps the track from being to Hip-hop if that makes sense.

D.VELOPED - My Dangerously Melodic Anthem

A bit of fun, this mash up is very "Girl Talkest", however the 'Postal Service' sample goes all the way through, giving the track a very smooth, easy vibe. I usually find big mashups usually to hectic, but this one seems to keep a good sense of relaxation.

We Were Promised Jetpacks - Act On Impulse

These Scottish fellows have been floundering around the music scene for a while now and for some reason there music just gets me, I don't know if its Adam Thompson's Scottish accent coming through on the vocals or just the whole way the band makes its music but there is something about their sound.  Id you like this album then check out Their debut album 'These four walls' from a couple of years ago.

We Were Promised Jetpacks -  Act On Impulse:

Ed Sheeran - The A Team (Koan Sound Remix)

So some of you may have heard Ed Sheeran on triple J lately with that god awful song 'You need me, I don't need you". So when I first saw this song I was a bit sceptic, however Koan Sound have really made a master piece out of a song that really wasn't that great to begin with, which makes me appreciate it even more. This tune is insanely chilled out with tiny bits of Dub step thrown in for fun.

Monday 10 October 2011

SBTRKT - Hold On (Siavash Cold As Ice Remix)

SBTRKT threw out an epic album this year and  the London music producers works are getting alot of attention by Djs making killer mix's, this track has a heap of swag to go with its chilled out vibe.

Gotye- Somebody That I Used To Know feat. Kimbra- (Dan Aux Remix)

So I will start of by saying I know this song has been raped into the ground by the radio but a good remix, is a good remix, and we cant start shunning good music because you don't know how to turn the Nova off. Dan Aux does a great job with this mix taking it away from all the other remixes I have heard so far and giving it an edgier and more driven feel. I especially like the bass line when Kimbra comes in, reminds me a lot of Roger Waters in 'One of these days' intro.

The White Panda - Mo Free Mo Fallin' (Notorious B.I.G. V Tom Petty)

The White Panda are at it again, even though they are touring like crazy around the world they still find time to release mash ups. This one will join the thousands of Biggie mix's floating around the interwebs, defiantly worth a listen as the Panda effortlessly fuse the two songs together.

The White Panda - Mo Free Mo Fallin' (Notorious B.I.G. V Tom Petty):

Dirtyphonics - Tarantino

Dirtyphonics are a French electronic band well known for their innovative production styles and insane live performances, with the slogan "French do it better" you would hope these guy can throw down.
If you like progressive House and busy electro music this will defiantly excite you.

Dirtyphonics - Tarantino:

9th Wonder – Never Stop Loving You ft. Terrace Martin & Talib Kweli

9th Wonder is one of those hip-hop artist you love because he creates his own style of music that hasn't been reproduced a thousand times, and I really digg this 90 jazzy soul feel. The album 'Wonder Years' has been in the works since early 2000 and finally 9th will release his first producer LP. Now that its dropped it features artists to die for will be appearing on the album including Phonte, Median, Warren G, Murs, Kendrick Lamar, Blu, Raekwon Mac Miller and heaps more.
This album drops tomorrow so get on it if you like the tune.

Steve Aoki & Afrojack feat Miss Palmer - No Beef (Panic City & Supersede Remix)

This mix is apart of my upbeat initiative to get some more life into the music on this blog, somehow I always end up floating toward more chilled out music.
No one needs to introduce Afrojack or Steve Aoki so when they released the song 'No Beef' the remix addicts were all over it, suffice to say this is my favourite mix so far.
Ps turn the volume up.

Steve Aoki & Afrojack feat Miss Palmer - No Beef (Panic City & Supersede Remix):

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (Sound Remedy Remix)

Sound Remedy have done an insane job on this track, to keep the original beauty of the tune, whilst giving it a total face lift and bringing it into the 21st century is one hell of a task. It still has an ambient feel to it and some sweet build ups and break downs which is the real kicker for me.
Defiantly worth a listen if you like chilled dub step, every time I finish listening to this song I  shake my head in a "that was fucking awesome" moment.

Thursday 15 September 2011

Paul Kalkbrenner - Queer Fellow (Original mix)

So if you are ever looking for music to chill out or study too that has an electric feel to it, the "Berlin Calling" soundtrack is defiantly a good idea. I stole this album off my girlfriends Swiss room-mate and the whole album is glorious. Here is a teaser and if you like this kind of deep house stuff then defiantly download buy the album.

Wednesday 14 September 2011

Inspired Flight - Wonderwall Remix

'Holy crap' is what I uttered after I listened to this track, this isn't just a normal cover, the duo from San Diego have put together something like a Frankenstein of a song which has samples from, Bob Marley, Radiohead, Postal Services, Blur, Simian and Morcheeba.
Somehow these guys just seem to able to mix together 4-5 different genres and get away with it.
This track is terribly chilled out, but so bloody good I have been listening to it on repeat all day.
Enjoy it.

M83 Vs. Kayne West - Midnight Life (The White Panda Mashup)

So it has been a while since I threw some songs up that weren't acoustic or very chilled, so I'm going to find some more upbeat tracks for you. This Track was put together by The White Panda which contains one of my favourite bands M83 and the well known Kanye have a listen because it works well.

Gotye - Night Drive

So with the release of Goyte's new album people have been slamming 'Somebody that I used to know' down my throat 10 times a day and although I like his new record, his first one was much better.
Here is a personal favourie of mine off 'Like drawing blood'.

Bombay Bicycle club - Motel Blues (cover)

This song is very deep, originally by Loudon Wainwright III this track is basically about trying to get a girl to sleep with the story teller, however its so passionate and beautiful you shouldn't care. Jack Steadman does a great job covering this song his voice works so terribly well that you will just sink into your chair.

To watch the original, which is even better click here.
Bombay Bicycle club - Motel Blues (cover):

James Vincent McMorrow – Higher Love

James Vincent McMorrow has a very sweet voice and has been putting out some amazing music lately.
This track is quite basic however his voice makes up for it all as you get lost in his crooning voice. Originally done by Steve Winwood Higher Love was a big hit in the 80s. Enjoy.

Thursday 1 September 2011

James Blake and Bon Iver-Fall Creek Boy's Choir

What a combo, I have been listening to Bon Iver's new music and I think it lacks a lot from their first two releases, but hey what can you do. Now they have teamed up with James Blake for this track and I can tell you its a very mellow experience, not as good as I had hoped, but still worth blogging.

Monday 29 August 2011

Childish Gambino - Not Going Back Ft. Beldina Malaika

"Suck a dick, we the shit, Metamucil"

I love they way Donald Glover goes about his tunes, his rapping is intense and the backing tracks always go well with his flow, his words may come across a bit strong but you just have to take it and realise he is just taking the piss, which is why is probably appreciate his music so much.

Thursday 25 August 2011

Jimi Hendrix 12 string

Something different, doesn't really need much explaining. Hendrix jamming on a 12 string = porn.

Metronomy - She Wants

Metronomy are one those bands with such a specific sound everybody kinda likes them for being different, but they have some real talent. This track is very dark by their standards,  Gbenga Adelekan  makes this track his own as he plucks away a sweet bass line, very chill track.

Metronomy - She Wants:

Trea The Truth - I'm On ft. Lupe Fiasco, Big Boi, Wale, Wiz Khalifa & MDMA

This track can be summed up by awesome rapping and an awesome backing track, no bullshit, just some rapper and their backing track. All five of these guys have flow thats staggering and each give something different, listen to this shit and relax.

Trea The Truth - I'm On ft. Lupe Fiasco, Big Boi, Wale, Wiz Khalifa & MDMA:

Radiohead - Optimistic (Live At The Basement)

I just cant get enough of Radiohead and if you watch this live performance and don't think they are amazing then I don't want to know you. There is something that these five blokes do together that just sends chills down my spine.

Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie XX - NY Is Killing Me

Jamie XX is out and about again, I have thrown some of his music at you earlier in one of my very first posts, with his remix of Adele with Childish Gambino. Here he has teamed up with  Gil Scott-Heron an American soul and Jazz Poet to make an whole album, so if you like the track hunt down the record, and if you can't tell by the name he is also the beat man for The XX which means I fucking love him.

The Naked And Famous - The Source

The Naked And Famous are a band with enormous potential. Hailing from New Zealand their album 'Passive Me Aggressive You' is an amazing record packed full of classic tracks. I hope these guys keep doing what they are doing because there isn't enough good music in this world.

Poolside - Harvest Moon (cover)

Poolside have come out with a Neil Young cover and I dare say it is quite cool, not my favourite Neil Young song but still turns out to be a great track. Have a listen.

Poolside - Harvest Moon (Cover):

Birdy - Shelter (Photek Remix)

Jasmine Van den Bogaerde, also known by her stage name Birdy, was born in 1996 which makes her feffing young for a chick witha voice like that. Well known for her cover of 'Skinnny Love' she has avoided writing her own music by doing a cover of 'The Xx' song 'Shelter' and then some wacky DJ went and remixed that. I know its all very confusing, just hit play and you will be ok.

Monday 8 August 2011

James Vincent McMorrow - We Don't Eat (Adventure Club Dubstep)

Adventure Club are a Dubstep troop that are blazing around the Internet, they have heaps of stuff floating about.
Here is my latest discovery by this duo. Most Dubstep I find is way over done and too busy, this tune however is very chilled and works well with the original track.

James Vincent McMorrow - We Don't Eat (Adventure Club Dubstep):

The National - Exile Vilify

The National are a band I never really liked, they actually got on my nerves a lot, so it's a great feeling to hear a song that does the complete opposite. This track is smooth and hits all the right places, excuses if it's not very new I usually avoid these guys like a plague.

The National - Exile Vilify:

Pretty Lights vs Radiohead vs Nirvana vs NIN

I could swear I posted this two weeks ago but apparently not.
I also swear this is my last Pretty Lights mix for a week. However I couldn't think of a better DJ to mix these three bands together and it turns out to be bloody brilliant, I'l say it again I am all for mixing classic songs I know some people hate it but god dam how can you complain about this.

Pretty Lights vs Radiohead vs Nirvana vs NIN:

BONUS SONG:
James Brown - Finally Moving (Pretty Lights RMX):

Tuesday 2 August 2011

Pretty Lights - I Know The Truth (live)

So you all know how much i love Pretty Lights by now, suffice to say, that if they ever come to Melbourne I will be that chick in the video in a bikini, at the front of the mosh, with glow paint all over my body, Taking loosing my shit.
This track is a lot more DUBSTEP than most his other tracks and its live.
I really suggest you visit his site HERE And get a hold of all the free music he gives you.

Golden Oldie: Pixies - Hey

So I just bought the best of Pixies Vinyl and I am obsessed with basically every track. This is one of my favourite to smash out on full blast, remember this song was released in the same year I was born 1989, fucking crazy.

Pixies - Hey:

Alexisonfire (Dallad & Wade) - The Northern (Acoustic):

So if there are any Alexisonfire or City and colour fans around you should appreciate this track, Alexisonfire's fourth album was pretty terrible, however this acoustic version has at least saved one song from my totally hatred. Dallas and Wades voices blend perfectly from Sooth to Raspy.
If you want to skip the talking go straight to 0:55 mark, but they do talk about JJJ though.

Alexisonfire (Dallad & Wade) - The Northern (Acoustic):

Ian Brown - FEAR (High Rankin & Evolve or Die Remix)

So this is my girlfriends addition to this site, she has been bugging me about it and emailed me this non terrible song so I figured I would share it with you...
A little Dubstep on a Tuesday morning is the ONLY  a way to wake up.

Monday 1 August 2011

Kreayshawn vs Flaux Pavilion (DOSVEC Mashup) “Gucci Cant Stop”

Flux Pavilion are dripping with steeze, so any mashup comprising this legend of a track has potential.
This was pulled together by DOSVEC and works outrageously well.
Enjoy
